Before you request International Roaming to be added to your Service, you should be aware of the below information.
At your request we will enable International Roaming. You will need to let us know when you no longer require this feature otherwise it will remain active on your Service.
The charges for calls made overseas are set by the overseas operators and can be extremely expensive up to $10 a minute.
To avoid this we recommend you get a local SIM card in the country you travel to.
You can buy a prepaid SIM at the Airport when you arrive. This can make things a lot cheaper.
Charges for calls made and data used overseas are not included in the credit that comes with your plan.
When overseas you will have to pay for all calls to and from your mobile. That is, both incoming and outgoing calls.
You also have to pay for all data used, both incoming and outgoing.
Our automatic barring system will not work while you are overseas so we recommend you bar data on your service before you go.
We cannot guarantee mobile coverage when you are overseas and we cannot guarantee a handset provided by us will work on all overseas networks.
Billing itemisation is limited by the information provided to us by the overseas carriers. All calls, SMS and data will be grouped together on your account under International Roaming.
If you would still like us to turn on International Roaming this won’t be a problem, just let us know, and we recommend you ask us to bar the data on the Service.
When you get to your International destination, turn your handset off and back on again and International Roaming should kick in.
When you arrive at your overseas destination and provided International Roaming capability is activated on your service, just turn on your phone, wait for approximately 30 seconds and you'll be automatically connected to a local network that has an international roaming agreement.
Some phone models may not automatically connect to an overseas network, and may need to be manually “Logged On" to a local network in the country you are visiting. Please refer to your phone's owner's manual for instructions on how to do this.
