Why am I now a Southern Phone customer?
We’re excited whenever we bring on a new customer because it usually means that they weighed up their options and chose us over the rest. However, we’re in a unique situation now where we’ve brought you on as a new customer due to a sale that occurred between MyNetFone and Southern Phone. While this is not expected to result in any disruption to your service, there are a few minor things that may take some getting used to, such as going to a new website when you need to check on your account and seeing a different logo on the communications you receive about your account.
We are very excited to be your service provider and promise to provide you with the customer service experience that you expect and deserve.
Who is Southern Phone?
Southern Phone Company is so much more than just another Telco, we’re one of regional Australia’s biggest success stories.
We were formed in 2002 after receiving funding from the Australian Government’s Networking the Nation scheme. Our vision was to deliver more affordable telecommunications services to regional communities and to share our success with those communities. Under our Constitution, only Australian Local Government Councils can hold shares in Southern Phone Company Ltd. Our dividends are paid to our Local Government shareholders and used for the benefit of their local communities.
We now serve a national customer base, both regional and metro. We provide more than 150 jobs at our Moruya (NSW) and Bendigo (Vic) offices, including the team that delivers the Australia-based, multi-award winning customer service we’ve become famous for. We’ve returned millions of dollars to regional communities since we declared our first dividend in 2009, and every Southern Phone customer has played their part in making those community returns possible.
- Will this move change impact my service or speed?
All areas of your service will remain much the same, and you certainly shouldn’t notice any downtime or reduction in internet speed. If you do think your service has been impacted in some way, diagnosing and fixing that problem will be our priority.

Whichever way you choose to reach us, try to have your account number handy.
- How do I claim my 4th month discount?
Simply click here to confirm your details and claim your discount. You will need you old MyNetFone account number and your new Southern Phone account number to claim your discount. These can be found in your welcome email and SMS.
